The heart of the Kenyan Children’s Project is to bring hope, love and peace to the most vulnerable children in the Western Province of Kenya. We believe that every child is a gift to be treasured.
Most of our children were abandoned or orphaned, leaving many of them with no choice but to live on the streets. Some faced years of abuse and never dreamt they would be free. For many of them this is the first time they have ever experienced being part of a safe, loving, secure family, and bit-by-bit we are loving them back to life.
KCP has two retreat centers, Koinonia for the boys and Deborah house for the girls. Our children have been transformed and restored by the love of God! The family is growing and our building projects are expanding. The school is finished and is now in use! We are overjoyed and very thankful for all the support that has enabled us to transform lives that matter.
Alongside Koinonia and Deborah House, the Kenyan Children’s Project also works in coordination with the Mother’s Union to feed 41,200 orphans every week. KCP has built 23 kitchens across the diocese where the vulnerable children can come and receive a hot meal. Some of the children walk up to 7km just to attend one of these feeding programmes! Sadly it is often their only hot, nutritious meal of the week.
KCP also carries out mobile Medical Programmes, where the orphans and vulnerable children receive free medical treatment and care. It is our heart and desire to increase the number of programmes we send out, so that more children can receive the treatment that they so urgently need. The number of orphan’s is huge and the need is great, but the Kenyan Children’s Project is on a journey restoring hope. We have seen many lives saved and we know we will see many more.
Prayer Points:
Please pray for wisdom as social enquires are made on the new girls coming into Deborah House, may the vulnerable cases be highlighted.
Pray for an increase of monthly supporters so that we can make a difference to more children.
Please pray as we look to employ more staff as the charity expands, that we would find the correct Mamas, Babas and teachers for our children.
Please pray for our children, that God would restore all that was stolen and they would learn to trust and dream again.
